Shock as bodaboda riders man handle MP aspirant, sells property to clear the service providers 

Joel Funa, an accountant, and  aspiring candidate for the position of MP, for Bunyole West, Butaleja district, has organized a Thanksgiving ceremony at Nawetaka village, Nawanjofu, to thank God for having saved them from the wrath of the storm which destroyed houses, plantations, other vegetation and killed one Man in March this year.

The event was held on Friday, officiated by the Bishop of Bukedi Anglican church, Samuel Egessa. It was attended by: Canon Joel Wafuho, Arch deacon of West Bunyole, the Butaleja district Khadi, Ramadan Muserengu, Nawanjofu LCIII, Fadur Umar Mulepo, Woman MP aspirant for Butaleja district, Sovereign Hasahya, and hundreds of people, officially invited, or mobilized by the bodaboda riders whom Funa employed that day.

Bishop Egessa, the main celebrant, encouraged the Christians to support the idea of giving thanks to the lord because he is the sole provider, and challenged them to do Thanksgiving with Faith and honesty, not as luxury.

The man of God, further scoffed at those who always give, to fit in society, not from the bottom of their hearts and argued that none is perfect to automatically enter the kingdom of God.

Funa, at the end of the function gave a few of his guests envelopes and hoes.

The district Khadi was witnessed pushing his vehicle to start it, in disbelief, as one of his aides complained openly that the Man of God was only given 5000=, in the envelope.

The bodaboda riders, who claimed to have been brought forth to help mobilize the people to attendance the Thanksgiving, man handled Joel Funa, demanding for at least 300,000=, when he gave them only 18,000=, with pleas.

The riders angrily grabbed all the food in the kitchen, and carried the plastic chairs belonging to Sherry Catering service as a bait for Joel Funa to clear up their demands.

However, a man, little known at the Function, intimated to the young riders that the director of Sherry Catering service is very ruthless, able to squeeze any one found with their identical property, illegally. The boys withdrew the chairs and instead grabbed the Politician’s ATM card and National Identity card.

Joel Funa, received more headaches(multiple in nature), as more service providers stayed back up to 8:00PM, demanding for their agreed cash.

These included the Band group, sourced from Kampala, Sherry Catering service, B14 disco, and Media from far and near.

According to the aggrieved service providers, the Band group wanted 500,000=, Sherry Catering service wanted 700,000=, B14 disco wanted 200,000=, and the Press men wanted 300,000, agreed upon.

Sherry Catering service and B14 Disco Jockey (DJ), threatened to untie Fina’s cows, when he continuously pleaded for their patience as he consulted his uncles for a solution. The pressmen left the home of Joel, uncleared, but on Saturday morning, a family member, who pleaded for protection of identity, reported that Joel Funa by called their LCI preside over the Land transaction, at 8:00PM, to find a solution for the aggrieved service providers.

The family member, further disclosed that they discouraged Funa, several times to hold the Thanksgiving because his pockets are not up-to-date.

This is the Fourth time for Joel Funa to play with people’s brains as he deceives them that he will behave later. Nevertheless, the canning young man has hosted the Bishop of church of Uganda, similarly, 3 times in 3 years.
