Sironko district council endorse Museveni , Lumolo as sole candidates come 2026

The Sironko District Council has today Saturday passed a resolution declaring President Museveni as the sole candidate for the 2026 general election.

Additionally, the council resolved to declare Sulaiman Lumolo Mafabi, the current Sironko District NRM Chairperson, as the sole candidate for the same position in the upcoming party elections.

The motion was moved by Samuel Dadiri, the Sironko District Speaker, during a council meeting on Saturday.

It was seconded by Titus Wombilo, Councilor representing Bumasifwa Sub County, and passed unanimously after acceptance by other councilors.

According to Dadiri, the decision was made in recognition of the peace and development brought by President Museveni’s NRM government.

He noted that NRM in Sironko District has gained popularity and support due to Lumolo’s good leadership, and expects even better results in the future.

Francis Nabyuma, Councilor representing People with Disabilities, stated that the council will mobilize votes for President Museveni and other NRM candidates from the grassroots level.

The goal is to ensure NRM registers a 99% win in the upcoming elections.
