Top Story: Kakungulu and Nadwula Families to be compensated 79.5bn shillings

The families of Semei Kakungulu and Ndawula are set to receive a mouth watering 79.5 billion shillings from Government.
Hon. Lydia Wanyoto the Senior Presidential Advisor to the President Yoweri Museveni read the letter to them masses which was written by HE. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni confirming the presidential directive to compensate the two families who occupy around 4 square miles of land in Northern Division.
Hon. Wanyoto says the announcement is great news to Mbale Citizens who shall now receive free titles from Government as the two titles of Kakungulu and Ndawula shall be cancelled.
Wanyoto has been chasing the compensation process for more than ten years now and the long awaited pronouncement has come to pass.
She says that many residents of Northern Division shall now have full access to their land and projects like Parish Development Model shall thrive as the masses can now comfortably use the land.
Hon. Wanyoto urged the beneficiaries of the 79.5 billion to reinvest it in Mbale to grow the country and the city through job and wealth creation.
Semei Kakungulu was honoured by the British Colonialists which the land mentioned above for his great work in aiding the British in their colonial mission.
He is also hailed for being a key figure in planting trees in Most parts of the country.
