Two held for stealing coffee in Bugiri

The police in Busoga East Region, Uganda, have apprehended two suspects, Mugweri Paul and Okoi Joseph, for stealing coffee from Bulenzi Dasan’s garden in Bango village, Bugiri district.
Bulenzi Dasan discovered his coffee had been harvested and stolen from his garden and reported the incident to the Budhaya police station, who deployed their K9 sniffer dog Monica.
Monica picked up the scent and tracked the suspects for approximately 1km, leading officers to Mugweri Paul’s home.
Mugweri Paul was arrested and revealed he sold the coffee to Okoi Joseph. The stolen coffee was recovered from Okoi’s home, who admitted to buying it from Mugweri.
The two suspects are currently in detention to assist with further investigations.
