We shall definitely lock up the thieves; President Museveni vows to deal with PDM thieves

President Museveni has vowed to lock up thieves who have made it a habit of stealing PDM Money.
President Museveni launched the Parish Development Model 4 years ago in Kibuku. However the program has faced challenges like corruption and poor mindset of the beneficiaries who eat the money with some drinking themselves to an extent of becoming useless.
He has put in place measures to cab corruption, including banning bail and police bonds for PDM thieves.
He also warned banks against reducing bank charges from the beneficiaries adding that the costs shall be covered by Government.
Today he continued his PDM in Mbarara by visiting selected farmers in the region including Mrs Ahimbisibwe Harriet from Ibanda District. He warned against extortion and asked leaders to take part in fighting the vice.
“The leaders should investigate the cases of extortion of PDM money. We shall definitely lock up the thieves. ”
President Yoweri Museveni also commended Ugandans for engaging in wealth creation and poverty eradication.
In a bid to fight poverty, Government has introduced several programs including but not limited to NUSAF, Entandikwa, Bona Bagagawale, Operation Wealth Creation, Emyooga and PDM.
Museveni is happy about the way Ugandans have embraced the Gospel of Wealth creation.
“As I tour these farmers It is good to see that people have woken up. In the 1960s, only 10% of the population participated in the money economy, while 90% remained asleep. Now, 68% are engaged in the money economy. ”
Museveni will spend the next two days meeting leaders, the Press and also addressing a public rally.
