Workers’ representative in plight over un paid workers

Butaleja district local government has this Thursday, joined the rest of the world to celebrate the International labour day, usually recognized on the First day of May.
The celebration which was recognized as different officers remained home, arose concerns from some leaders, including the district councillor for workers; Paul Wasanya, Janet Nandinghi, Woman MP aspirant, and Henry Tuke Junior, MP aspirant for Bunyole West.
Paul Wasanya, the Butaleja district councillor for workers, reported that a lot of worker in Butaleja, and countrywide are un happy as their managers exploit them(work with no payment, under hash condition s).
He for instance, broke the news that the district councillors have not been paid for now Two quarters, as the blame goes to the regular changes of the Chief Administrative Officer.
He also said that many people don’t understand Labour day celebration, thinking that it targets basically, those in public offices. He never the less encouraged the workers with or without offices to work with courage and with respect for one another.
Jennet Nandinghi, a popular contractor, and Woman MP aspirant for Butaleja district, urged the workers to be courageous and with transparency at work.
She argued that hard work largely results in development.
While Henry Tuke Junior, a popular businessman and MP aspirant for Bunyole West, condemned corruption tendance in the public offices, and called for diversification of labour.
According to Tuke, one can certainly venture into office work, then co currently does garden work, poultry, or grazing, for development.
Tuke, also decried that most of the civil servants get little salaries, which forces them to land in debts before the end of the Month. This has pandered corruption.
